Lodi, California based Rivermaid Trading Company accounts for half of California pear volume and is a top-five shipper of the state’s cherries, according to the company. Rivermaid Trading is a grower-owned and operated organization with over 7,600 acres of pears and cherries grown in California and Oregon.
Responsible for 50% of California’s pear volume alone, Rivermaid Traiding is the state’s undisputed pear leader. Rivermaid Trading Company is also a Top-5 shipper in the California cherry industry.
The company commissioned Sunworks to install a roof mounted solar energy system that will help it offset 60% of its energy costs. Sunworks installed the 1.5-megawatt SunPower photovoltaic system. This solar project is estimated to save Rivermaid Trading Company $510,000 annually, and $12.8 million in utility costs over 25 years.
